"Putting the Therapy in Physical Therapy"
Michael Nelson, PT, DPT, OCS

CEUs - .1

Biomedical and structural beliefs form the bulk and foundation of most modern physical therapy treatment. However, recent research is clear in its consensus that pain is a multidimensional disorder, encompassing physical as well as psychosocial domains. Failure to assess and address relevant factors across all domains is incomplete care. This talk will discuss the relevance of psychosocial factors and introduce introductory assessment and treatment techniques.

About the Speaker:

Michael Nelson is a staff therapist with Agile Physical Therapy, where he works at the onsite Google clinic in San Francisco, and leads monthly group classes and discussions for patients with complex pain disorders. He is an assistant lecturer for the UCSF / SFSU physical therapy program and teaches for the Agile Orthopedic Residency.
